Welcome to my Portfolio, I hope you will enjoy your visit !

In a few words…

I am Nicolas Gomez, I’m Game Designer and I have a huge passion for video games for as long as I can remember….. Wow! Never heard of that one so far, right? ^^’

I’ve made a lot of games, of various genres and sizes, as an employee and freelance. I also teach Game&Level Design.

My work

The games I made are usually dynamic and ambitious, with an emphasis on speed. But don’t worry, I can also make more calm and peacefull games, it takes all kinds 🙂

I’m very demanding on how fresh and quality oriented the gameplay of my games are. Even if the little details of the balancing and level design.

Even if the best value of that damned camera is 8 digits after the point, I WILL get it right. Sounds like there’s a true story there, right? :p

My lectures

For a few years now, I’ve had the opportunity to teach Game & Level design. In Gobelin’s school, but also at 3is’s school, with the great Thierry Perreau (one of the biggest names in french video game industry)

Yup, that’s me on the right. Yes I’m posing, but it was in a real board games lesson! 🙂

Who am i ?

As you can guess if you’ve read everything above, I’m having fun with everything, and I put my funny touch in everything I do. I try to put my mischievous mind at work to tease and surprise players!

Oh rest assured, dear recruiters, I can be totally serious if needed, you can see it for yourself in the “about me” page. However I thrive when I’m allowed to be the joker in my work and my teams ! :p

This section here is the best exemple of it: I could have not put it in this page, but its way funnier and genuine this way. 😉

Think of this as one of the many Easter Eggs I love to spread. First to the Key, first to the egg!

Course

My path has been diverse, after several years of specialized psychology faculty in cognitive sciences in Toulouse, I decided to follow my passion for video games and entered ISART Digital Paris’s game design curriculum.

My previous experiences helped me deeply understand the player’s motivations, an asset that directly improves my production’s quality.

I had several internships as a versatile game designer and content creator while working on personal projects.

After I graduated, I had the opportunity to work on several games while teaching Game Design in higher education.
